Earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Washington University in 1972 with a major in Chemistry and a minor in Mathematics. Chemistry course work included general chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry and some biochemistry. Mathematics course work included calculus, differential equations and some computer science. Post graduate courses include “Chemical engineering – Elastomers” and “Advanced Rubber Technology”.
Experience
Currently working as a consulting chemist for the rubber industry. Have over 40 years of experience working as a chemist in a manufacturing environment. My experience includes developing rubber materials for products that are used in aerospace, automotive, agriculture and sports and recreation industries. Being a tutor would allow me to provide students the benefit of the experience I have gained over the years and show them the practical application of what they are learning in school. For three years I taught a course in Basic Rubber Technology and continue to provide instruction in this area as clients require.
